Oh My Gosh, I almost drop my son

Yesterday i took my wife and son to plaza Bonita to do a little shopping. We rented one of those little carts to put our son in so we don't have to carry him. It looks like a little racing car and my son loves cars so this was a great idea for a $5.00 dollar rental fee. We went to the upper part of the plaza to do some shopping but and eat and after that we needed to get to the lower level so instead of taking the elevator i told my wife we'll just use the escalator and that I'll just hold the one side of the kiddy cart while she holds the other side so we can get down. That's was no problem but then later on we ended back up stairs again so after doing our shopping, we wanted to take the shortcut and avoid the elevator and it seemed like a good idea since we already had done it once earlier. BIG MISTAKE! I started to jump on the escalator holding the back end of the kiddy cart with both hands but in the process i lost my balance and nearly fell holding onto the kiddy cart with my 2 year old son in the cart at the top of the escalator on the way down! OH MY GOD! I nearly lost hold of my son! I only had one hand on the kiddy cart and if i would have lost grip of that kitty cart my son would have fell down the escalator with him inside it and I'm sure he would have gotten hurt. I feel like such a irresponsible father because the kiddy carts are not designed to be used on the escalators and its all my fault because of my laziness to walk a little further to get to the elevators. WARNING: never try to use these kiddy carts with your children inside of them on an escalator because some escalators where not designed to make use of these kiddy carts. There are some shopping centers that have escalators designed for use with those kiddy carts but plaza Bonita does not. That's why they have elevators. Dummy me!

Lucky you.

To make it easy for parents it's forbidden here to take buggies, etc, up on the escalator.

When you have time shopping, you have time to walk a few steps more for the safety of all.
