Wifey first job at famous filipino store

I'm so proud of my wife in that she recently was offered a job in Seafood City here in San Diego. This will be her first real job since coming here to America 8 years ago. We just happened to be shopping in the supermarket one day and she inquired of work and wouldn't you know it, she was offered a job that day. She saw the manager that day and the manager had her fill out an application followed by a drug test and background check. Several weeks later, and now my wife is working and she really likes her job. I'm happy she's working there because she says when we go to that store it always makes her feel like she's home in the Philippines. We're in the process of petitioning my mother-in-law who's currently in the philippines to here in the United States so she can start a new life here and help us watch our kids while we work. It would be nice if she was here now but this will take time and money. For now though my wife is working and her daily routine is more active and busy which is good because she's not stuck in the house as much.

Congratulations! That is so nice she finally got a job. Right now I am a SAHMom too since no one else can watch our kids or at least someone I can trust. Good luck as well on petitioning her mom. That would be nice. Anyway, it would also make me feel at home when working in a place like that where you can see lots of Filipino food as well. Wonderful!

I get the same feeling when I got to the Asian store.
