Starting off a new year

Well, a new year has begun and it's looking like it may just be a pretty good year. This year I plan on taking care of some financial bugs that have been lingering around for awhile. This way I can have a little breathing space come pay day. This year we won't be getting season tickets to sea world. Don't get me wrong, we like sea world, it's just that I wanted to take my family some where else this year. So I told my wife I would like to go Disneyland up in Anaheim, CA. We went there last year for a day but it went by too fast. We missed seeing a lot of things so this deserves a year membership pass. My wife will get her camera this year and she's excited. The last camera was put to the graveyard when one day we were at the beach and a wave came up and hit our baby stroller and the camera was in the stroller and got drowned by the water. Salt water in cameras is never a good thing. My wife asked me if there was something special I wanted and I told her an Ipad. I'm hoping some day I can have one.

We are big fans of Nick Jr at our house. Even though my kids don’t watch a lot of television, like most children they want to watch it and I believe it’s good for them to see some (appropriate) shows so they are familiar with what other children are talking about. While I knew the shows on the network were educational I had no idea the website provided so many educational opportunities to build on what is in each episode. For each show there are activities, crafts and even recipes to reinforce the learning that takes place while watching. Sometimes it’s difficult to get the kids excited about generic crafts or new foods at our house. With a connection to the characters or events they’ve seen in the shows they enjoy I’ve been able to get them more interested in activities that they otherwise would have only tolerated!

Because the Walgreens cared so much to their clients, they came up with this Walgreens Prescription Savings Club where members can avail the prescription savings of 8,000 brand-names and 400 generics. They are offering low annual membership fee just for this month of January, $10 annual fee for a family and $5 annual fee for individual. If you are interested you must avail it as soon as possible because if not it’ll go back to its regular fees which are $20 for individual and $35 for a family. My wife says that it’s recommendable to follow Walgreens on Twitter and like Walgreens on Facebook for further details, recent news and latest updates about their program.

Family entertainement with the Wii gaming system

Fun and Addicting. That's all I can say about the new gaming console we bought for our kids. We bought the Wii gaming console from Nintendo and it came with super mario bros CD and 1 controller but my wife and I started getting addicted to the game so she went ahead and bought another controller online and now we find ourselves sometimes playing for hours. In a way it's not good because we need to remember what our priorities are and stick to them instead of playing games all day. Now it turn's out we need to buy another controller because now my son is staying up late and he's also addicted to the game. My wife woke him up this morning at 7am to get him ready for school but my son didn't want to wake up and gave my wife a hard time so we had to cut him off the super mario bros on school nights. Giving in to all of The Office spoilers

There are so many things that I hate about spoilers. My wife is one of the worst people ever to let spoilers for shows slip. I am the exact opposite when it comes to that. I can get so angry at her when she lets those things slip. After all, they are just a bunch of TV shows. But I hardly ever watch them when they come on so I can be seasons behind her at times when she lets spoilers slip in front of me.

About the only show that I actually keep up with on a normal basis is The Office. I even used our Miami internet service to look up a bunch of information about spoilers for this current season. I fought it for a while, but I just could not wait to see any longer.

Out off all the The Office spoilers, the main thing that I saw was that Andy would be the regional manager. But that is really the spoiler that I was wondering about anyway. I had to know who would replace Michael Scott.

Weight loss and diets

My wife was talking to me the other day saying she wanted to start on this diet plan that she heard from a friend of hers online. I don't know what the name of the diet is called but my wife said she wants to try it and she want's me to try it also. My doctor told me I was about 20-30 lbs overweight and since I have heart problems, it's recommended that I lose some weight. I tried it and it tastes pretty good and I think this diet will work for me because all the ingredients are all natural and safe for me. Well' I think it's better than taking any kinds of those pills that are being marketed these days because they have a lot of chemicals in them that curbs your appetite but my cardiologist does not recommend that to me. It can have a negative affect on my heart condition. So I'm going to try this diet and see if it helps me to lose some weight. Wish me success. I know many people are trying to lose weight and I thought it would be easy until I tried it and found it's not as easy as I thought.

Raising little girls requires much patience

I don't know what it is about my daughter but she just doesn't seem to be getting the message. What I mean by this is that she likes to climb up onto the chair and then the table to get to my laptop to hit the keys. I have a Sony vaio laptop that's about a year old and so I try to keep it away from my kids because I don't want it to get damaged like the last one did. Anyways, when I catch my daughter playing with my laptop, I usually discipline her. It's getting to point where I'm getting tired of disciplining her but she just doesn't want to learn. She's 2 yrs old and I know she's still young but after a certain amount of time, I would think she would get the message or learn that when she touches daddy's laptop, or climbs on top of a glass table there will be consequences. I just want her to learn. She's so hard headed and stubborn but she's still daddy's little princess.

I just love the latest smart phones to hit the market these days. They are so powerful and full a=of many capabilities. Well, My company has a contract with sprint cellular and so I decided to go to my company and talk to the people in human resources. They are also having the activation fee waived on new qualifying lines of service and free shipping so maybe it's a good idea to check them out. They told me the employees will qualify for reduced price on sprint cell phones and plans but I haven't decided what I will do. I'll need to talk to my wife about what we can purchase.

Kids fighting for wii controller

My wife and I recently bought a wii gaming console for our kids and they love using it to play their favorite games but we started having problems with our kids when we only had one controller and steering wheel for Mario kart. That meant we needed a second controller but I was reluctant to pay $ 40.00 for a new controller so my wife went shopping around town the other day and found a new controller and game software for $30.00 at game stop. The clerk told my wife that was the last one they had so my wife wasn't about to let this deal fall thru. Good going honie! Way to shop and save! The game is called fling smash. It's for kids around 2-5 yrs old but at least we got a controller. We also ordered a accessories pack kit complete with steering wheel baseball bat, golf club and a host of other accessories for a rollback price around $10 dollars, used to be $17. Now we won't have anymore fights between the kids

There's so much to know about the world around us and we'll do well if we are informed. Wife bookmarked this beautiful set of clothing

I saw my wife this morning browsing for new baby girls clothes at the website called Tea Collections. She specifically bookmarked the Tres Pasos 6-pece set (photo above) designer clothing. She probably didn’t know that I was behind her when she bookmarked this beautiful set of clothes. My daughter has all kinds of clothes and I don’t know why my wife still shops her for some more clothes. The clothes above looks nice don’t get me wrong and my daughter will definitely looks pretty in it, but I don’t think we need more clothes for my daughter.

If my wife really loves this beautiful set, I can’t do anything because no matter what she’s going to get it regardless of my opinion. My wife loves playing dress-up with my daughter and my daughter enjoys it too, she loves wearing princess-like dress. She danced with it and at the same time saying “I’m a princess”, which she really is our princess. By the way, I noticed that Tea Collections have a lot of floral and colorful dress. They’re also 100% cotton which is really great. My daughter pediatrician actually adviced us to let her wear 100% cotton clothes because she has sensitive skin.

Who Likes Filipino Lumpia

Do you like Filipino lumpia? Me too! I love the crunchy taste of the wrapper and the flavors of the vegetables, beef and pork mix that combine to make the lumpia, along with the sweet chili sauce of course. It's finger food and I'm a gluten for all kinds of finger food. The other day we had the gardener that maintains the yard in our apartment complex knock on our door telling us that he is putting on a party for some friends this Saturday and so he wanted to ask us if we could make him 100 lumpia fried. I told him that we can do it. In the past we have made up to 300 lumpia which was a enormous task to prepare, let alone fry them. Well, it's helps make us a little extra money on the side. I use a simple recipe of 1lb ground beef, 1lb ground pork, chopped onion, chopped carrot, 1 large jicama, 3-4 garlic cloves, 1-2 eggs, salt and pepper to taste. Mix everything together, cover and store in refrigerator if not using right away.

Sky tower ride at sea world

Have you ever been to sea world and ride on the sky tower? Well, that's what we did the other day when we visited sea world. We've never rode on this ride before because either it cost too much money or there was too long a line and when you have two small kids that can be a big deal because they can get impatient really quick. Anyways, I picked up my son from school the other day and we left for sea world. My wife and I have been wanting to ride this ride for so long now and we finally got a chance the other day. I shot some video with my cell phone camera and it was a magnificent view of San Diego. It was so beautiful seeing all the blue water and the wonderful things that our god made for us. Lounging outside by the pool

Not to long ago I took the wife and kids up to Los Angeles for a couple of days just to visit and get away from San Diego. We did a lot of sightseeing and toured the famous walk of fame. We stayed at a moderately priced hotel, something we never did before and took complete advantage of the hotels outdoor swimming pool and Jacuzzi. My wife and I relaxed a lot while the kids went swimming. The hotel had some of the most comfortable outdoor furniture we've ever sat in. I told my wife they look like those famous Adirondack Chairs you see in gardens and patios. The chair had the classic high angled backs and sloping seats typical of what you see in adirondack chairs. And they also had that distinct western red cedar wood color you see on Picnic Tables and city Park Benches. I just love these outdoor patio furniture and the furniture are made so strong they can last forever.

I've seen some made from plastic and last just as long as the wooden ones do but I like the more traditional look of wood. I'm more old fashioned anyways. What a great way to complement your back yard patio with this kind of furniture. I've also seen this outdoor furniture sold in unfinished wood condition where as you can paint it a specific color if you prefer. Most adirondack furniture is made either from cedar or teak. Have you ever smelled the odor that is emitted from these types of furniture? It produces a wonderful odor that makes you think your in the forest or something. I have two active children and they love outdoor recreation. My wife and I take them into many different local theme parks for our family recreational activities. My wife and I had been talking about the Holiday camps for kids and hopefully we can do it as soon as possible. Camps for kids are a great way to keep your children active during the school holidays; it allows them to continue learning while having fun with other like-minded individuals. A run away dog sends his owner into raging fit screaming "Fenton! Fenton! Apparently, the man was walking his black Labrador retriever dog in a nearby park close to a local freeway when it got away from him and started running after a herd of reindeer. I thought it was kinda funny but the video has gone viral and I just had to post it on my blog for my readers to see. The dog didn't know any better and this dog was no different than any other dog. This is a normal dog doing what dog's are supposed to do. Chase things, whether it be a cat, reindeer, intruder in your home. But you have to admit that the owner who is running after the dog, is the silly one here. Fenton! Fenton!

Shopping for scrubs

My co-worker said that his wife went shopping for clearance scrubs somewhere in Chula Vista the other day. He asked me if my wife works in the medical field and if she needs some scrubs because he’ll ask his wife which store she went into to purchase those scrubs. He said they are really inexpensive. I told him my wife doesn’t work yet. But I said to him, if my wife works and does require scrubs for uniform, she’ll definitely go to that store because she’s a bargain hunter. We went to the meeting Friday night and my wife talked to our friend about Black Friday shopping. My wife said to me that our friend went to the Macy’s store and bought 10 pieces of aeropostale tank, they were on sale for $8 a piece and the regular price was $22, great deals indeed. For a branded product like aeropostale, and for that price, I think it’s really good deal. My wife thought of going to the Macy’s store tomorrow and I bet she’ll go crazy about it. She’s good at finding clearance clothes and footwear. Whenever my wife goes shopping, she always takes home a bag full of clothing.

She actually went Black Friday shopping too; she bought shoes and boots for my children. She said she saved 50 % off. Now that she’s a licensed driver, I don’t go with her shopping anymore, because it takes forever for her to get done shopping. I brought my children and my wife to chuck-e-cheeses the other day and they had a blast. My daughter was all over the place riding all kinds of rides and my son played all kinds of game. It was fun to see them smiling and happy. It was such an amazing family bond. We stayed there for 3 hours and there were no dull moments at all. My children love it and that’s all it matters to me. This will be an exciting vacation.

Lego Star Wars

These are star wars collections that were made out of legos. Just imagine how many legos they used for each character, hundreds of thousands of it. It’s amazing how they were able to create these meticulous handcrafted arts. Well, correct me if I’m wrong, not quite sure whether these were made by humans or machine. I think if these were done manually, I wonder how long it took them to finish it. Using the machine will surely be quicker than humans can. These were cool though. Plans for this coming week

My son will be off from school for a week and we have some plans to do while he’s on his thanksgiving break. I will spend time with my family on my days off. My wife and I have talked about it and we decided to take the kids to the chuck-e-chesses and Sea World. We want our children to grow up with good memories in their childhood years. We always make sure that we spend quality time as family. We go to some places and I always want to take my wife to the places she’s never been into yet. I know my wife wants to experience the horseback riding and I will make it happen soon. For now, we want to take our children to chuck-e-chesses and Sea World. Sea World is having all kinds of fun stuff and events this season. They’re having SnowWorld and I want my children to sled and play with the snow. I googled Lima direct tv to get tv in my area. Top Chef is one of my favorite shows. It's kind of strange that it is such compelling tv when you don't get to taste the food! Even with Project Runway, you can see the clothes for yourself and form your own opinion. I like Top Chef so much that I'll watch even re-runs. I've been watching the top chef all-stars re-runs. Carla is still my favorite! Some of the chefs became a little weird. When I visited DC recently, I even went to Graffiato, when of the all-star contestants new restuarants. They serve fancy pizza and stuff. It was pretty delicious. I had the "jersey shore" pizza with calimari as a topping! It was delicious! I even got to go to the restaurant Volt created by one of the Voltaggio brothers. It was amazing, as well. I tried things I would never otherwise try and it was soooo yummy! I am a definite creature of habit, so I rarely branch out . Not at Volt!

Well, what can I say other than defending myself for being so busy at work and my family that I can’t find some time updating my blogs? I had been working overtime for the past few weeks and I get caught up recharging myself for it is really what my body needs than blogging for now. I came home from work and my wife was telling me about the Stand Up For Family comedy that she watched earlier today and she wants me to watch it too. I guess she was entertained by the comedian. I believe in that saying “laughing is the best medicine”.

Among the comedian I would have to say, I was entertained by Mr. Mark Viera where he talks about his teenager. He said something about when his teenager was young he shares everything but now that he’s a teenager, he rarely talk to his parents and sometimes he comes home from school mumbling over something and when he’s asked he won’t even bother to say what’s wrong. Then he also said “you are homeless son, you don’t own anything here” it was funny the way he delivers the joke. These videos are AmFam by the way. His joke made me think about my children, he’s only 5 and she’s 2, hopefully when they become teenagers we will have an open communications and that they won’t shut us down in their life.

Just so busy lately

I know most of my visitors here are always looking forward to reading my updates. I am sorry for not being able to update my blog, I am so busy lately. Well, if not busy, I am too tired to sit in front of the computer and think what to write. Nothing much for me but I am so happy for my wife because she is officially a California driver now. She can drive whenever she wants to and she can take my children wherever they may want to while I’m at work. She can go for grocery shopping without me and the kids. I can also sleep-in in the morning and she’ll take my son to school. I’m proud of my wife, she took the written test and behind-the-wheels test for one time only. I remember when I took the written test a long time ago, I failed the first time. But my wife, she did it ones. Now, I need to get her a car or she can take our van because it’s reliable and I’ll buy an inexpensive car for myself. We’ll see!

It’s only been a few days since I’m back to work. I had almost 5 months of family leave and I’m excited working once again. I noticed that my brain is malfunctioning and it needs refreshment in general. I feel like I am not capable of fixing the bus sometimes, I guess my brain got rusty enough and I find it hard to work in the bus. Seriously, my co-workers welcomed me back, as if I’m gone for a year or so. But I’m happy because that shows how much they’ve missed my company. My boss and supervisors were asking me some updates about my health and I showed them a letter from my doctor saying that I can do my job with no problem at all. I’m just glad that I’m back to work once again. I miss my job! I hope everything goes well with my health so I can catch up with my finances/bills with my complete and regular paychecks.

Filipino tinola soup

My daughter was tired but we couldn't get her to sleep without her binky but we're trying to get her off of the binky so we just put her in our bedroom and let her cry herself to sleep. She was just so tired and cranky yesterday. Anyways, when she woke up 4 hours later, she was crying again but this time because she was hungry. Here's a picture of my daughter getting her fill of food. She was so hungry but after eating this filipino tinola soup, she was happy and content. Poor baby! Shopping for shoes at plaza bonita

Today I took the kids to plaza bonita to buy them some new shoes. My son got new sneakers and some house shoes. Since my son will start kindergarten next Monday, it was important that he got some new shoes so he could be ready for school. My daughter got 2 new pairs of shoes for our bible study meetings and she loves them. We went into JC penney to get some shoes and my son saw these house slippers designed after the famous movie "cars" with that famous red car named "Steve Mc Queen" if I'm not mistaken. He wanted to wear them as soon as we got in the car and he didn't want to take them off all the way home. He's still wearing them as I write this post so I took a picture of them. Cute huh?

Regulars to this space know I am rarely at a loss for words. But honestly, there's not much to say here except that this video, chronicling the Opelika, Ala., police department's efforts to lure suspects wanted for unpaid child support into custody with the promise of free Alabama-Auburn football tickets, goes from mildly humorous to mildly disturbing — and then to very disturbing — with unprecedented speed

OK, the ruse I get: Rare is the opportunity for authorities to have a wanted suspect walk right into their office. I even kind of get the presence of the local news cameras, in a documentary sense — see "COPS" or "To Catch a Predator" or any of those other cheap thrill shows where the cameras are just along for the ride. Voyeurism, I understand.

But why on earth did the local news actually agree to participate in the ruse? "A police sting involving routine, nonviolent offenders? Yeah, our reporting team really wants to play an integral role in making that happen." Really? The next time Channel 3 sticks its microphone in some random citizen's face, forgive him if he spends the entire interview looking over his shoulder for black vans.

As quick and dirty entertainment, though ... well, there it is. "Nearly a dozen" people were arrested in this fashion last Friday, according to the Opelika-Auburn News, which doesn't have much else to add to the story, either. What else is there? Alleged deadbeats love the Iron Bowl, too, and they're paying dearly for it.

I guess this is a learning lesson to all those deadbeats who don't pay their child support payments. The law is coming after you if you don't pay so lets this be a lesson. PAY OR ELSE.

Yesterday after field service, I had to get the kids out of the house for some fun and relaxation so I took them to the beach to play in the water and the sand with their toy trucks, shovels and buckets and stuff. My kids just love going to the beach. Beach photography and child photography go hand in hand so what better place to get authentic shots of my children than in one of the best places on earth: The beach. One of the things I like to remember when taking pictures at the beach and our children is to have fun, relax and keep taking pictures. My kids love to watch the Yo Gabba Gabba show on Nick Jr. It's very educational and my son and daughter haved learned many words and how to count on this show. When they hear the super music friend show come on, they like to dance to the music. One song that they really like is the song "Lovely, love my family" by none other than "The Roots" Even my wife and I have grown attached to this song when we hear it. Even though we are grown up, it's a catchy song that hits the heart and makes you want to sing it. I think the Nick Jr channel is a great educational channel that can really help your kids to learn in a friendly and safe environment. Also, our kids like to watch the PBS channel where Sesame Street is featured. Both channels are good clean fun for the kids.

Stressful times at home

Lately, I've been so moody. I've been on disability from work for the last 4 months because of health reasons and I think it's really starting to get to me and my family. Geez, I want to go back to work but since I've been on disability, I can't. I work for a transportation company in Chula Vista, Ca as a bus mechanic and part of my job consist of retaining a class B drivers license to test drive the MTS buses. My health affected my ability to retain my class B license and so the DMV suspended both my class C and class B licenses. Eventually, the DMV was able to release my class C license back to me but I can't work without my class B and it's creating friction at home. I'm so used to going to work and earning an income for my family. I have a DMV hearing coming up soon so I'm praying they will reconsider and give me back my class B license.

Legoland part 2

The other day we went to legoland again and completed our trip on things we hadn't seen the first time. The kids really had a great time and my son got a real legoland drivers license. He got to drive a motorized car around the track a few times. Unfortunately, for my 1 yr old daughter, she wasn't tall enough to ride most of the rides my son could ride which made her cry a lot. The Hope Diamond of fender benders unfolded yesterday in possibly the most conspicuous stretch of asphalt in the .75-square-mile principality — the round-about in front of the James Bond-worthy casino — when three blondes in a jelly-bean blueBentley Azure ($363,000) scraped the rear of a whiteMercedes-Benz S-Class (a paltry $91,000). And that was merely the appetizer.

Served up for the main course were a hapless black FerrariF430 ($186,000), which was hit nose-first by the 2.7-ton Bentley. Then, like two tankers mashing in the fog, a four-door Aston Martin Rapide ($228,000) crunched into the Azure’s passenger door. The cherry on this metal, plastic and carbon-fiber shattering souffle: a stray Porsche 911($77,000).

In all, a Titanic mess in mere moments, involving nearly a million dollars of primo automotive machinery. How did this happen? A quick photo-based forensics of the scene based on knowledge of the Place du Casino offers many clues.

My wife and I bought our Toyota sienna van about a year and half ago from a well known car dealer here in San Diego. Keeping my blogs up to date

Lately, I've been trying to focus on keeping my blogs up to date every 3-4 days. Doing this for the past several weeks has really paid off. I can see that I have slowly started to gain more traffic to my blog as well as some consistent readers which is good. Also, this has helped me to gain advertisers to my blog and even a little page rank. Having no shortage of something to write about because of our recent stint on entertainment has given me a boost too. I think we have seen more attractions in the first part of the year than ever before which is good for the kids and us but there's comes a time when we need to relax, take a deep breath and chill out for awhile. I'm sure that once I return to work, finding time to keep my blogs consistently up to date will prove to be a challenge just like it did in the past but all I can do is try. Our adventure @ the LEGOLAND California

The other day I took the wife and kids to Legoland for a little fun. We bought the Legoland park ticket with the additional water park access. Geez, my kids just loved the water park. My son and daughter got to ride many rides play with the water, even go swimming and slide down the water slides. My son says he wants to go back and ride the train. Here are some pictures of my kids having a blast with the water. My son also got to drive his very own car and got his Legoland license. Here's the pictures to prove it. We purchased tickets and got a second day to return for free within 9 days so we will go one more time. I think we all had more fun here at Legoland than we did at Disneyland which is way up in Los Angeles.

Shopping at Plaza Bonita

One day I took the kids and wife to Plaza Bonita and after we did some shopping, we took the kids over to the kiddy rides. My daughter briannah wanted to ride on them so much but my son ethan was scared to get on. Since I'm too big to get on the ride, I had my wife give my daughter a ride. She really enjoyed it. Here's the video I shot with my Motorola phone of a stolen shot in time. Hope you like it. The night after this ride, my daughter got burned from the heater so we had to rush her to the hospital. Poor baby.

Korean bbq beef

I really like to try cooking different dishes for my family because my kids are so picky about what they eat. My daughter likes to eat vegetables but not much meat. My son on the other hand likes to eat anything barbecue. My wife and I can eat just about anything. I found this interesting recipe for korean barbecue beef I want to try. When looking to cook for my family, I always look online for recipes and when I find something, I really look at the number of positive reviews on that recipe to give me an idea whether or not it's worth trying to cook and whether or not I think my family will like it. Here's the recipe I will try to cook for korean bbq beef. It has many positive reviews and I think this is a keeper. here's the recipe:

Ingredients

1 pound beef top sirloin, thinly sliced
6 cloves garlic, minced
1/2 pear - peeled, cored, and minced
2 green onions, thinly sliced
4 tablespoons soy sauce
2 tablespoons white sugar
1 tablespoon sesame oil
1 tablespoon rice wine
1 tablespoon sesame seeds
1 teaspoon minced fresh ginger
freshly ground black pepper to taste (optional)

Directions

In a large resealable plastic bag, combine beef with garlic, pear, green onions, soy sauce, sugar, sesame oil, rice wine, sesame seeds, fresh ginger, and ground black pepper. Seal, and refrigerate for 2 to 3 hours.
Preheat the oven's broiler and set the oven rack about 6 inches from the heat source. Brush oil over grill pan. Place beef on pan. Cook, turning to brown evenly, for 3 to 6 minutes, or until done.

Gone fishing

Kids, wife and I went to the pier this afternoon to fish. It wasn’t too exciting today because we didn’t catch a lot of fish, unlike last time. Many fishers looked so bored while casting their rods and it takes forever to catch some fish. My wife caught those 3 fishes and I caught 1, which means we came home with 4 fishes in our bucket almost filled with ice cubes. It’s funny because the first time we went fishing we didn’t bought ice cubes and we caught a lot, but this time we went prepared but we don’t get much. As long as my wife has something for her dinner tonight I’m happy for her. She’s been craving for fresh fish that’s why I took her to the pier today. Hopefully the next time we go fishing we’ll catch more.

My son recently graduated from preschool so we put on a little surprise graduation party for him on his last day at school. He really was surprised when we opened the front door to our home for him. We had him staying next door at our neighbors house until we had the living room set up for his party. We bought him a "thomas the tank engine" track set to compliment his existing track set and we bought him the train "duncan" which is yellow. It's one of Thomas's friends. Day at Disneyland

We just back from Los Angeles the other day and the kids, wife and I had a great time. We stayed in a luxury hotel called the crown plaza hotel. My wife wanted to stay in a fancy hotel so we arranged for that to happen. I've never stayed in a fancy hotel like this before but it was nice. Our hotel was right next to LAX so it gave us a great opportunity for our son to watch the big airplanes land. We took advantage of the hotels pool and Jacuzzi which my daughter and son loved very much. The following day we woke up early, ate breakfast and left Los Angeles for Disneyland for a day. I've been living in california for maybe 25 years but never been to Disneyland. Neither has my wife, son or daughter. We arrived at Disneyland at 8:30am and didn't leave until 10:30pm that night. Everyone loved Disneyland, especially the new soundsational mickey mouse parade. We watched it twice. There's so much to see and do at Disneyland but it's a day long event. If you have the opportunity, don't pass it up.

Sister in law is having a baby boy

Day of fun at Del Mar Fair

The other day I took my wife and kids to the Del Mar fair for a day of fun. My kids had a great time and my wife and I really enjoyed ourselves so we are thinking of returning for one more day of fun before it ends. I have lived in San Diego for over 25 years and have never been to the fair. Yesterday was the first time for me and my family to go to Del Mar. The kids got to ride on many rides and they had a blast. There's so much to see and do at the fair. They have live animals for the kids to see and they have a lot of exhibits to see and many have free samples to give away. We want to go back on July 4th. I'm hoping we can go. Big Boy: Great American Restaurant

When I lived back in Michigan, one of the places that my family loved was Big Boy. This restaurant was truly the epitome of an "All American" restaurant. It had all sorts of burger dishes one could order, as well as a fabulous salad bar. I loved visiting Big Boy with my grandmother or mom whenever I had a break from classes. This restaurant almost served as a sort of bonding place for my family.

The desserts at Big Boy are truly to die for. The ice cream is of such high quality, and the sundaes that Big Boy creates are out of this world. One has to try out a hot fudge sundae if he or she goes to Big Boy. There is no way that one can visit this great place without trying some of the Saunders hot fudge. It literally melts in your mouth and tastes divine. I remember being a little five-year-old when my grandmother took me to Big Boy after church, and we shared one of the hot fudge sundaes. It was one of the best days of my life and I will never forget about it!

Overall, this is a great restaurant and I still love to go all the time. I just have to set the SecurityChoice home security alarm, because sometimes I spend hours enjoying the various dishes at this great place!

Sons first bird house

This is a project my wife and my son Ethan had started on months ago but never finished it. I decided one day recently that I was going to take my son and finish it but I recieved some tips about parenting and one of those tips was to make a bird house with my son so I decided that this house that myu wife and son had just started was going to be finished as a bird house. We finally finished it and we found some pine cones and covered one in peanut butter and bought some wild bird seeds. We hung it on the front porch of our apartment building. Unfortunately, no birds ever came to feed on it. I talked to some pet shop employees to find out why the wild birds wouldn't feed off of it and they said maybe the pine cone smell was the problem but even after taking the pine cone off, we still didn't have any bird activity. Well, the whole purpose was to bound with my son and I certainly fulfilled that. We had fun painting it and hanging it.

Acer Extensa 5420 charging port repair

For those readers who didn't visit my other blog, I mentioned that I had to make a tough decision about my wife's Acer Extensa 5420 laptop several weeks ago. To make a long story short, some months ago the female battery charging port on the laptop broke and I couldn't use the laptop to do my work because I couldn't charge the battery. With only my wife's desktop computer working, it made it very difficult for us to update our blogs and to write articles for the different advertisers we have. Shopping around town for the lowest price to repair the laptop led to a cost of $150.00 minimum to repair it. Being on temporary disability, I had to make the drastic decision of tearing it apart myself but not knowing what I was getting into made me very nervous. Thankfully, a persistent internet search for repair tips on the Acer Extensa 5420 led me to a website that showed a similar Acer laptop repair procedure that I was able to use to lead me into the right direction and repair the charging port without damaging any parts or having to send it to a repair shop for repairs. It turned out that one of the wires that go into the female plug port was broken at the heat shrink connection. I wouldn't have found the problem had I not used my fluke digital volt/ohm meter to check continuity from the positive and negative ports of the plug to the connector shell. The pictures here show the laptop in different stages of disassembly.

Memorial of jesus christ

The other day our congregation had our memorial for the death of Jesus Christ. Every year we participate in this event because we are following what jesus said to do in the bible at 1 Corinthians 11:23-25, which says to keep doing this in remembrance of me until I arrive. The event is held around Nissan 14. Around april or may of the calender year. I had a friend take a picture of me and my family so I could post it here. Every year Jehovah's witnesses go door to door to minister the word about god's coming kingdom. On this special occasion, we go door to door handing out invitations to neighbors hoping they will attend and see what a wonderful future mankind can have if he worships jehovah god in faith.

Modern day wardrobes

Well, another tax year just went by and we said we were going to fix up our master bedroom and re-decorate it with new furniture and wardrobe, but we didn't have a budget for it. If you were to ask us the name of the room that would be the most cramped and cluttered and untidy, we would have to say it would be the master bedroom. We've been saying for a long time that we want to make the most of our bedroom with a fitted sliding door wardrobe. By maximizing the space in our bedroom, we would be able to reduce the clutter and have a nice presentable bedroom to come home to. Having a sliding door wardrobe means not having to stand out of the way to open the door like we have to in some rooms.

Our current bedroom has a closet but its not a walk-in style closet. It's sliding type but the space is limited. There are some people who have nothing but the best. I'm talking about those people who make lots of money and can afford a home with walk-in wardrobes or bedroom wardrobes. I never imagined that some of these walk-in wardrobes can be installed in our home at an affordable price and help us with of cluttered drawers and shelves. If I was to pick my favorite type of sliding door wardrobe, it would have to be this evolution glass sliding door wardrobe. I just love the glassy look and the clean crisp corners. It definitely has that modern furniture look. We want our bedroom to look like it's a part of our taste of style and class. I think the style of furniture you have in your home says a lot about who you are.

I must say that blogging has really given me a chance to change my life for the better. Without the extra income I earn from blogging, The money I earn from blogging helps me and my family get by the week until I get my normal work check. Everyone here has felt the pinch from high gas prices and it's making it harder for us to keep gas in our Toyota van but the blogging helps me to keep gas in our van while we're going from paycheck to paycheck. I really enjoy talking about our children as we watch our 4 year old son and our 18 month old daughter grow up and the blogging really allows me to communicate with the rest of the world about our family and meet friends and blogging worldwide. I particularly enjoy the comments to my blogs as they encourage me and give me motivation to continue writing better blogs. My wife started blogging when she came here from the Philippines, so I followed her and it's been a great experience and I've learned many other things about the internet and personal computer that I otherwise wouldn't have. If I would have had the chance to enroll in a blogging course at Ashworth College when I first started, I would be more proficient at it now and who knows, maybe I could have had a second job as a professional writer or something.

A lot of the guys in my wifes family are serious basketball fans. Every year around this time, the guys like to barbeque a lot, drink beer and watch their favorite basketball team play. I used to be an avid basketball fan when I was living back east in massachusetts. My step father, my step brothers and I used to watch the Boston Celtics play all the time. My favorite team player was "larry bird" He was a former american basketball player who was drafted by the boston celtics 6th overall in 1978. He played as power forward and small forward for thirteen years before back problems eventually forced him to retire in 1992. Now I live in San diego and the closest basketball team is either the Los Angeles clippers or Los Angeles lakers. Sometimes I'll watch a Los Angeles lakers game but it's my father in law who really likes that team.

My father in law is still in the philippines right now but when he comes here he want's me to buy some tickets and take him to one of the games. My brother in law on the other hand is a avid New York knicks fan. I recently sent him a New York knicks ball cap and t-shirt to the philippines. He was so excited to recieve those sports memorabilia. He also wants me to buy some tickets to a new york knicks game but I told him only when they come to play in Los Angeles. Kids being kids

Here's some pictures of my daughter riding on the kids rides at the chula vista shopping center on broadway and "H" street in chula vista. My wife wanted to buy some goodies from Victoria Secret and avail the free stuff that she received. We get them in the mail some time and I guess that there way of saying thanks to us for purchasing their products. Free is always good thing. My daughter briannah was having so much fun on these kids rides that when it came time to leave to go pick up our son at school, we have to peel her hands off the steering wheel of the car. Poor girl, sorry. Is your children like this?

My wife realizes that we can actually save some money if we start drinking tap water and stop buying bottled water. If that’s the case then we need to purchase drinking water filter or tap water filter as soon as we can. I want to make sure that my family is drinking clean water, so, it’s very important to install water filters in our faucets. We might have to get it at Puriteam because that’s where my co-worker bought their countertop water filter and he recommended me to check it out. Fun day for the family

The family and I recently took a trip to Sea World and we really had a wonderful time. I bought my son one of those bubble blowing toys and all you can see every where you walk is kids blowing bubbles. I also bought a pair of flipflop for my daughter that has Abby's (sesame street character) face on it. It was really funny. The kids really had a great time seeing shamu and the pets rule show. I told the kids we will go back to Sea World on Wednesday. We paid for a day and got to come back for the rest of 2011 for free. I think the best part of the day for the kids was all the fun rides they went on. I want to take the kids on the "Journey to Atlantis" ride. I'm sure they will enjoy that. Today I had the day off from work so I decided to take my family to sea world for the day. The kids, my wife and me all had a ton of fun at sea world. We saw the "Shamu show" and the "Pets rule" show but that's all we could see for shows because we came late because of picking up my son from school at 12:30pm. We got to ride some of the little rides for kids but my wife passed on the tea cup ride because it swings around in a circle and she said she would get dizzy if she went on that ride. I bought our son one of these bubble blowing toys that blows bubbles a gazillion times a second and it was funny because other kids were blowing bubbles too and all you could see in the air was bubbles, bubbles, and more bubbles. It wasn't long before my son used up the whole bottle of bubble fluid and we had to go to walmart to pick up a big bottle. Anyways, we had a lot of fun. Can't wait to go back...!

For any TV viewer who also loves dogs, there is no better television show than "Dog Whisperer." Starring Cesar Millan and his many canine patients, "Dog Whisperer" airs Fridays at 7:00 pm Central Time on the National Geographic Channel. This show premiered in 2004 and has been attracting a loyal following ever since.

Millan demonstrates his fascinating techniques to rehabilitate dogs that are aggressive, frightened, lazy, or jealous. Usually, Millan also has to "treat" the dog owners who invariably are the source of a given dog's problems. For example, owners complain that their dogs are aggressive; yet, the owner berates and hits the dog constantly.

Millan is a magician with the animals he sees. He goes into the homes without any prior prepping about that day's case. In one hour, the show chronicles the incredible transformations that take place for both dog and human under Millan's guidance.

I watch this show every chance I get on my Satellite TV from TVbyDirect.com, and I am never disappointed. Owners call Millan as a last resort, and then he literally saves the dogs' lives even when the owner believes he or she has to euthanize the beast. Most Dog Whisperer shows take place in the homes of the dog owners, and it is gratifying to see both dog and owner restored to happiness with their newfound understanding of each other.

Hollywood Guinness world of records

When we visited Hollywood, one of the first things we wanted to do was check out the Hollywood Guinness world of records. This isn't really a Hollywood museum so much as it is a museum located in the heart of Hollywood. One part of the museum is donated to Hollywood celebrities. Of course Michael Jackson is the one of the first wax statues you will see upon entering. One of the most interesting parts of the museum is the toppling of one million dominoes in a fascinating sequence while sitting in a seat shaped like a giant domino. There's a statue of the smallest woman, Lucia Zarate who stood only 26 1/2 inches and weighed only 13 pounds and the tallest man, Robert Wadlow, who stood 8' 11 1/4" inches tall. Nearby, there is a large step-on scale, next to a figure of Robert Hughes, the worlds heaviest man who weighed 1,069 pounds. The museum is open daily. ticket prices vary depending on how many people are visiting. I think we paid about 36.00 dollars for me and my wife. All in all, we had a really fun time. I would recommend it to anyone visiting Hollywood.

The old wild west

I don't know why but I just love watching old western type movies, especially if it's the Clint Eastwood movies. Seems like you could find a saloon in just about any corner. At that time, it was legal to play poker in the saloon. If I was living back in those days, I would spend my time fighting the bad guys. Condo fires across from Terrenova Hall

We just got home from our congregation meeting but as we were leaving the kingdom hall we smelled something like wood burning. And then I seen them across the street. I'm talking about a whole fleet of fire trucks. Everything from the hook & ladder to the heavy rescue truck was there. I think I counted 12 fire trucks in the parking lot of the condos across the street from our congregation in del rey. As we headed home, it was so foggy. Well, at least that's what I thought it was until my wife said it's smoke from something burning. It really started to get hard to see the road. I was looking for the fire but I couldn't see it until I drove the car back around were the fire trucks were and then my wife said "there, that house is on fire" By that time, I guess the fire had been put out but it really gave us quite a scare because we thought the whole city was on fire.

House infested with rats

Almost 10 years ago my friend hired me to work for his shop as a mechanic and since I don’t have any place to live at that time, he offered me to stay in his house. I live downstairs and I paid rent. I had some household issues at that time. The place is not so safe and when it rain it’ll be flooded and all my stuff were soaked and wet. Not only that, there were a lot of boxes stored inside where I was renting at. There were bugs and spider crawling on a huge old tree right outside my door and sometimes they go inside my room. A few years after I met my wife and we got married and live together in that same old place. My wife was telling me that she can hear squeaky, chittering or bruxing noises from mice and rats. We bought mouse traps and put them in different areas. The following day I checked the trap and I was stunned to see every trap caught mouse and rat. I realize that the place started to get infested with pests. I told my friend about it hoping that he will hire specialists in rodent control but he didn’t. It was so sickening. I decided to move out of there after we caught a big rat. It was scary because of the bacteria that these pests are carrying and I fear that they might bite us while we’re sleeping at night or they might transfer any bacteria in our food.

My wife and I moved-in to a clean and mouse free apartment, we don’t have to worry about pests anymore.
